Unity Broken Animation

Not really sure where to ask this question, sorry if this is the wrong spot.

When I import a blender model with root animations into untiy, the walk animation gets all warped. Idle animation is perfectly fine, but during walk, the models face slides backwards and forwards off of the body. When I initially import the model all animations are fine, it breaks when I add an animator controller. It also works fine in blender. Any ideas as to what is causing the distortion please?

    So there were some broken animations in the blender file, in which the animations started before the first keyframe. Because of how unintuitive blender is at deleting animation actions, they were not properly deleted and still interfering with the good animations. After watching a video on how to delete them fully, it has now been fixed.
