It looks cool thus far and it appears you have a lot of cool systems in place.
I would recommend however trying to make it different from all the other survival games.

The genre is overdone so you should try and add a spin to it if you plan to make this game a proper project. 🙂

Thanks, I really have tons of ideas on my to do list that will certainly make my game original and different at some point than any other survival game, and yeah I plan to release it on steam one day, working on it many hours everyday so stay tuned if you’re interested i will be posting here quite a lot I guess.

Finally finished the functionality of new inventory layout using UI elements instead of scripted GUI. Here is how it looks:

Also saving a game will now save all the items in the inventory, objects and building placed on the map.

gonna take my time to replace all the other windows with the same style now, let me know if you like it please! 🙂

Nice systems, when they work as they have to, I should focus on the graphics!

on February 19, 2017

thanks! sure, the graphics are all temporary, i’m focused on scripting now, when everything is in place i will work on graphics.

Not a bad start!

Here are some screenshots of my first (and only so far) experience.
I was initally quite excited because the default resolution setting for me when opening the program up was set to my 4k screen size, and not many games have that option. But was a bit disappointed in the canvas settings thereafter…
I couldn’t play longer than a couple minutes because I couldn’t even read the buttons and swinging the axe was frustrating because I couldn’t aim at anything other than the ground. So all in all, a bit frustrating but great potential. I liked the lizard!

sorry about that, i guess you could have just changed the resolution, and also this is the older version of GUI, i don’t think you would get this problem anymore. I will keep that in mind and see if I can make it work properly with 4k if it doesnt yet. new version should be available to download here in a couple of days. thanks for taking your time to play and feedback, really appreciated!
and the lizard model is temporary, downloaded it free from asset store.

This has a lot of potential. I think this will one day be worthy of paying for and playing it on Steam! Keep it up!

Almost done with a nice Main menu and pause menu UI, redone the fire functionality and added furnace, a couple of new items and new icons.

Hi, this one took me a while but here it is!
Now player crafting only has a few recipes to start with, for more crafting options you will have to get a crafting station, here is how it looks:

Player crafting:

Crafting Station:

Anvil:

Also implemented a basic upgrade system. For now only crafting station is upgradeable but in the near future most likely all building and placeable objects will have this option.

You can now change the material you are building with, only wooden logs and planks for now but stone and iron walls are next on my list.

other than that, the equipment is now being saved, the UI for it is done, just need to add functionality for it. Drop button in inventory is now working, added some SFX and new items.
Many cool features are coming soon!

Any feedback appreciated 🙂
thanks in advance!

Looking good!
May I ask what the endgoal of the game is?
Most survival games fall flat on their faces after an hour because they have no endgoal.

on March 4, 2017

I’m planning to make this a survival rpg, where you could learn many new skills, level up, there will be some villages with npc survivors with quests for you and a storyline most likely depending on players choices. I haven’t made the final decision about the storyline yet so I dont want to get in too much detail because at this point I just want to implement the most important mechanics to have a nice gameplay.

I had enough of unity’s standard assets and decided to make it a low poly game, since I’m working on this project all by myself it’s going to be easier for me and anyway i kinda fell in love with the beauty of simplicity.
Here is how it looks so far:

I think I’m gonna have to think about another name for this game though because it doesn’t seem to fit anymore. Any ideas or feedback always welcome! 🙂
