in the Making of Maniac Inc – Ludum Dare 37 at 1:41 Brackeys said he made some algorithms to make sure the difficulty increased with time and showed graphs of two function. can someone please explain what are those algorithms and how those functions relate to them?

It’s simple math. The spawn interval and enemy difficulty changes over levels according to the graph. The graph has its own formula which he used to transfer that graph into code.

but why did he chose those functions over others? just because of their shapes? or because of  another reason?

Because it’s an easy way to do it and there’s literally thousands of ways to do it and he chose that one?
