I’ve been learning game dev for a little while (much thanks to Brackeys), and getting ready to begin a large project. The visual scripting of 2019 looks amazing, and I’m wondering if I should wait for that before diving in to a massive game. Thoughts?

Yes, the Unity 2019 visual scripting looks indeed amazing. But there a more features you have to learn if you want to work with Unity and that’s not only scripting.

So just try a few projects to learn (https://unity3d.com/de/learn/tutorials), then create a few smaller games with one gameplay element by your own and then the 2019 version shouldn’t be that far away anymore and you can start your big thing with “Entities”, “Nested Prefabs”, “Shader Graph”, “Visual Effect Graph”, etc.

Thanks – yeah I’ve been learning those things, and was curious how much the visual scripting would require me to rework what I’ve done. Can’t wait for the release.
