Hello everybody!

I come from video/music editing, but lately i’ve been getting into game design a bit.

So I came across Brackeys RPG game tutorial, and I got really excited, because I love RPG games, and I would feel really amazing if I could finish this tutorial and actually make it.

So my problem is at exactly 0:50s of the 1st tutorial:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2mK6KFdv0I )

The problem is, when I open the example scene, I just get a couple elements of the scene, such as:

-lights (lamps),

-chair/campfire,

-couple rocks and plants.

There is no ground, no bridge, no river, no trees… (I can press play tho, and the fire will burn. :p)

And it looks like this:

And the error messages are this:

What I can gather from this is that I have to download blender, and find the .blend files in the zip file of the assets, and set them to be opened with blender? Which is weird, because it wasn’t mentioned in the tutorial.

Also I would like to understand this UV overlapping and lighting issues. Is there some settings I should tweak? Or could I possibly take away the lighting somehow, and continue with the tutorial, with a flat looking unlit game?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am really motivated to make and RPG game :).

Regards, Branko.

UPDATE,

I went ahead and downloaded a free copy of blender from their site, and I got my environment up and running :).

Blender apparently also took care of the overlapping UVs because I no longer have the error messages.

If any other errors appear while I go through the tutorial, ill just post them as a reply to my OP.

Regards, Branko.

Alright, another slight problem occured.

In his MOVEMENT tutorial (Episode 1) @ exactly 14:58, he clicks on the lighting tab in the box to the right, to adjust the fog distance.

I dont have the lighting tab, I only have the inspector, services and navigation tabs.

In fact, it seems as tho I have the services tab instead of the lighting tab, because in his tutorial he does not have the services tab.

I guess my question is, how do I customise the tabs I want and the whole software in general?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Regards, Branko.

**EDIT**

I found LIGHTING in the Window tab on the top toolbar, so I was able to adjust the fog.

Haven’t figured out how to get the lighting tab in the box to the right tho!

Okay nevermind,

i guess something glitched in unity, i fixed it by deleting the player file and re-importing it. Then I had all the inspector options.

See you @ the next error
