[QUESTION] Making a Pikmen like game but don’t know how!

Hey Game Developers,

I really love this cool game called Pikmen where you have little alien plant like creatures called Pikmen that follow the main character called Olimar and helps him collect parts to get off the planet.  I thought it would be an awesome idea to create some similar game mechanics as the Pikmen that “flocks” Olimar, Olimar can call them if they not apart of the group, and Olimar can throw them towards enemies to kill them and other things to help Olimar complete his Adventure. 

There are a lot more things that Olimar can do with these Pikmen but what I’m mostly trying to get at is the following/flocking behavior of these Pikmen.  I’ve tried looking up things but they were not as helpful.  The most I could find on the internet was Boid’s flocking behavior but I couldn’t find any code (except for maybe some JavaScript but I use c# and it wasn’t that helpful) for it or tutorials.  I was wondering if anybody knew a way to create this behavior!  It would be really helpful!  If you don’t have enough info, you can watch the game play for Pikmen (1, 2, or 3) and see how the Pikmen interact with Olimar or you could ask me questions.
