I am making a 2D Platformer Game, that I know for sure will be a fun game to play (I have been working on the Game Mechanics for months, and I am will be developing the story/campaign soon). How can I build my community (Mostly on twitter)?, because I eventually plan to make a Kickstarter for this game and I will need all the help possible. Also, this game will be finished in a year and a half latest. I want to stay away from other social media that will take up a lot of time because I am still in school.

That’s something the most people are struggling with. The game itself can be as good as nothing else, but if nobody knows it actually exists, you still have nobody who plays it.

I think you have to made a decision first, do you want to pay for ads in e.g. google AdWords or do you want to try a free way to reach more people?

I want to try a free way.

Okay. The free way is, that you show your work your family and friends first. Then you can expand by showcasing your game on this forum for instance or somewhere else. You can also upload a “Demo” version, so that people can test the game at least.

BUT, beware that you don’t annoy people with that. Keep a gentle speach and ask nicely. Show them what you have done (at least some screenshots), what you will do and why do you think that your game is something special.

If your game is good enough, your game will be spread by people, but that takes a lot of time and is much slower than ads obviously.

(guarantee is excluded 😀)
