hide / disable android status and navigation bar

hi is that possible to disable status bar and navigation bar (android virtual buttons like home or back) ?

in some forums people say use :

Screen.fullScreen = false;

i use this in “Awake()” , but its not working at all !

unity version 2017 …

I don’t think there is a way to disable the virtual button, as there has to be a way to force exit the app in case of a crash. That is all handled via the phone OS.

iPhone I know has a box in its resolution setting that can enable/disable the status bar.

Android use to have it in version 5, but has since been removed.

 

Setting Screen.fullScreen to false is the current way to do it, but it’s done asynchronously to the scene actually being set up. Try moving it from Awake to Start to try and give it a little extra time to load.
