Creating light with clear pixelated outline

My current 2D platformer project requires a dark environment, and there is a light source around the player object.


but when I add a point light to the player object, the outline of the light is blurry, as the picture below



but this is not what I like, I would like a light that looks like this!



I was thinking about just adding a black color image with a hole in the middle and attach it to the player object(it might look like everything else is darkened and what the player see in the hole is covered by light), would this be the only way to achieve this?
