Hi, I’m new on this forum, I’m making my first game in unity, but I’m very scared about copyright and similar things. The game i have done it will be free, I have used some fonts for text some downloaded from http://www.1001freefonts.com/,  and I even made images with text with fonts from gimp 2. How can I now if that fonts are or not copyrighted? If one day i will make a game (that you have to pay, i think that is called commercial) how can I know if I can release it without legal risks?

Read the license for each fonts. The fonts are likely free to use for you without any copyright issues from that site.

yes, but I use some fonts that I didn’t download, that are “included” with gimp 2, where can i find the licence of them? And, if in my game i will put ads (unity ads), but it still free, will that become a commercial use? Thanks

Ads are still considered commercial use. Google the font and try to find its license name, then Google that license name and it will say what you can and can’t do with the font.

Gimp doesn’t come with fonts. Gimp uses the fonts already installed on your computer. So it depends on where you got them from. As for your other question, yes as far as I’m aware if you put ads in your game, you’re monetising it, making it commercial.

For example I have downloaded this fornt from here

http://www.dafont.com/giant-robot-army.font

it says 100% free (upper right), i have google that font and I found the same answer, 100% free, there is no name of any licence. So i can use it for free project but EVEN for commercial/not free projects right?
