A FPS Game Idea

So I’m kinda new to this forum, but I hope this is the right section for this topic. 😛

I have this game idea, which I think could be very cool if well-developed, even when there’s probably a few games like this. 😛

The idea is… A fps game, with all quite low-poly but great quality graphics, very much like Unturned, but then again, fps. I imagine it being very similar to Overwatch, but with a bit slower and less aggressive play style. Also set in the the times we live in now, and you would play as actual humans.

The weapons, would be the weapons we see today and quite a few years back. With some additional totally imaginary guns, just because! 😀

And also, I want to add that just because the overall assets of the game would be mostly low-poly; doesn’t mean it would be very bland and unpleasant to the eye. I imagine some cool big maps, with some cool lights and stuff… 😛

I know this may seem like a very big project, and very unachievable for one person / a small team. And you know, it might be. But I heard it’s good to ‘dream’…

i might also add I’m learning C# at the moment, I’m still very ‘noobish’ at it. So, for now I will just stick to easier projects… :)

It may seem like a rip-off of Overwatch / Unturned, but when I imagine it it’s different 😉

So it’s basically “This game plus this game”

The best way to present an idea is to show it, not tell it.

Not really “This game plus this game”. It’s hard to visualise it without actually making it. I guess you could say that when talking about graphics style, not the gameplay itself. And gameplay is a big part of a game, obviously 😛

Which is why the best way to present an idea is to show it. Just telling people what the idea is will most likely put them off.

Stick to it and don’t give up on it. Build around what you’re good at rather than making it look exactly how you envision it. Make sure to have really good and smooth gameplay, and maybe even a good story to go with it.

Building a basic prototype doesn’t sound that hard if you use premade assets.

This asset literally turns any model into a Low Poly version, so technically you could program the game and then model your own rough objects (or download them) and convert them with ease.

Art, easy-ish.
Programming, a hassle.

I have used this asset in the past so I have a bias, but never the less something to consider.
